Scouts is for young people typically aged from 11 years, to enjoy learning life skills and Scouting values in a safe, fun and youth-driven environment. Scouts transition to the Venturer Scout Unit before turning 15.

Scouts are:

• Experiencing big changes

• Exploring their changing sense of self

• Focussing more on peer networks

• Transitioning from Primary to Secondary school

• Finding new ways to express themselves

• Exploring and forming their personal identity

As members work their way through the higher age groups on the Scouting pathway, they’re gradually given more responsibility for themselves and others.
